Educational Qualifications:

• Scientist ‘G’ – A Master’s degree in Physics, Geophysics, Mathematics, Atmospheric Sciences, Oceanography, Geology, Seismology, or a related field; a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering in Ocean Engineering, Earth Science, or a related field; or an equivalent degree from a recognized university with at least 60% (first class) overall in the qualifying degree level.
• Scientist ‘C’- A master’s degree in science, a bachelor’s degree in engineering or technology with a concentration in biotechnology or geoinformatics, or an equivalent degree from an institution of higher learning, with a minimum grade point average of 60%.
• Scientist ‘E’ – Masters’s degree in marine biology, zoology, marine sciences, or microbiology, or an equivalent degree, from an accredited university, with at least 60% of the required points (first class).
• Scientist ‘F’- A Master’s degree in Mathematics, Physics, Geophysics, Oceanography, Atmospheric Sciences, Seismology, Geology, or a related field, or a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering in Ocean Engineering or Technology, Earth Science, or a related field from a recognized university, both of which must have earned at least 60% (first class) overall in the qualifying degree level.
• Scientist ‘D’ – Masters’s degree in zoology, marine biology, marine sciences, or microbiology, or a similar degree, from an accredited university, with a minimum of 60% of the required points (first class).

Age Criteria:

Not more than 40 years for scientists in brackets C and D, and 50 years for scientists in brackets E, F, and G. According to the instructions or directives occasionally issued by the Central Government, there is a five-year age relaxation for government employees.
